Recent break and enter not linked to sleepwatcher

Another woman in south-end Halifax has awoken with a stranger in her room, but police say it’s not the sleepwatcher.

The break-and-enter from four days ago is only coming to light now.

A woman in the 1100 block of Queen Street called police Friday evening about a man she found in her room around 6 am.

It’s believed he entered through an unlocked door.

Investigators on the case don’t believe it’s linked to other similar break and enters.

The suspect’s description isn’t even close: this man is 5’6″, white, about 40 years old, with a chubby build and a light-coloured baseball cap. He may travel by bicycle.

Police remind residents to keep their doors and windows secure and call police right away about suspicious behaviour.
