Murder victim’s mother ‘ecstatic’ over charges

The mother of a recent murder victim says her son was not a gangster and she’s calling on the public to help bring the man accused of shooting her son to justice.
Gloria Adam’s son Stacey was shot to death and his body was found outside a house in Lake Echo April 10.
Police have now laid charges against two Dartmouth residents.
Brittany Derbyshire, 23, appeared in court Monday to face a charge of accessory after the fact.
A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for Stephen Skinner, 38, who’s charged with second-degree murder.
“I was ecstatic about it, but I knew it would happen,” Ms. Adams told Global News.
While police say the shooting was related to the drug culture, Adams said her son was not a gangster and is urging the public to speak up if they know where Skinner is located.
“If you agree with a code of silence, especially in a case like this, than I don’t see you any different than I see the killer,” she said.
Adams said the pain of losing Stacey is still raw, especially because his son was born just a week ago.
