CIBC on Barrington robbed

Just before the lunch hour rush on the Friday before a long weekend, police say they got a call that the main CIBC branch at the corner of Barrington St. and Duke St. was being robbed.

Around 11 a.m., the suspect apparently walked in, demanded cash and got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Constable Brian Palmeter says no weapon was seen.

The culprit is described as a black man, with a light complexion. He is about 6′ tall, wearing glasses, blue jeans and a baseball cap with a white logo.

Officers are looking for tips from the public to help solve this crime.
