The town of Port Hawkesbury is in “panic mode” says the town’s mayor after news that the NewPage pulp mill will close it’s doors, directly affecting 1,000 workers and indirectly affecting thousands more in and around the Cape Breton town. We speak with mayor Billy Joe MacLean. Another dog attack in Dartmouth, another family pet euthanized after sustaining injuries and yet again it’s another pit bull-type breed roaming off leash. We speak with Halifax Regional Police who say they’re still looking for the owners of the pit bull. HRM council boundary reviews will happen without public input for the most part — political blogger Waye Mason isn’t too happy. We speak with him and councillors Brad Johns and Jackie Barkhouse.
