Cole Harbour man arraigned on assault charges

A Cole Harbour man has been arraigned on two charges of aggravated assault after two teenagers were seriously injured in an altercation in downtown Halifax early this week.

Twenty-two-year-old Ashton MacNeil is also charged with causing a disturbance by fighting.

He has been remanded until a bail hearing Wednesday.

A 19-year-old had to undergo emergency brain surgery after he was allegedly punched and hit his head when he fell.
