A 23 year-old Dartmouth man will be in court Monday after a shooting Sunday night.
Sergeant Greg Robertson said police responded to a call about shots fired on Collins Grove Road around 9:00 p.m. and arrested a man wounded in the buttocks.
Robertson says officers located a duffel bag nearby containing significant evidence.
“At the time of his arrest, there was a large quantity of narcotics located, as well as a loaded handgun,” he said.
The victim was treated in hospital for minor injuries, then taken to police headquarters for questioning. Robertson says he is not cooperating with investigators.
Robertson says police are looking for at least two other suspects involved in the shooting.
“One man was seen running towards a black SUV, possibly a Ford Escape, parked on Collins Grove Road,” he said.
The vehicle took off towards Cole Harbour. Police say there’s no further information on the driver, passenger or vehicle at this time.
The victim will be in court today facing weapons and drug trafficking purposes.
