Tentative contract reached for 10,000 public school teachers

The government of Nova Scotia and the union representing about 10,000 public school teachers in the province have reached a tentative contract agreement.
The government and the Nova Scotia Teachers Union issued a brief statement today saying a deal has been struck but details are being withheld until it is ratified.
Union president Alexis Allen says the provincial executive is recommending acceptance of the tentative pact.
Regional meetings with teachers to discuss the contract are expected to begin Tuesday.
The last contract expired on July 31st of last year.
