A violent robbery Saturday night sent a 19-year-old to hospital with serious injuries.
Police say it happened around 7pm in the 2000 block of Brunswick Street in Halifax.
Officers report the victim and a few of his friends were in his apartment when they heard a loud crash and about 4 or 5 men armed with knives entered the apartment through a ground floor window.
One of the suspects demanded cash and other personal items and after receiving these, stabbed the victim in the chest before fleeing.
The 19-year-old victim was taken to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries, while no one else in the apartment was injured.
A short time later one of the suspects, an 18-year-old man, was taken in to custody by HRP.
Police say the suspect and the victim knew each other and add the attack doesn’t appear to be a random act.
