New research suggests green tea limits fat absorption

New research from Penn State University suggests green tea can help slow down weight gain by limiting how much fat is absorbed by the body.

Scientists gave obese mice a compound found in green tea and found the obese mice gained weight 45 per cent more slowly than the other mice.

A person would need to drink 10 cups of green tea a day to match the amount of the compound used on mice in the study.

However, the researchers add other recent studies show that just a few cups a day may help control weight.
