Expect to see more police enforcing the rules of the road this weekend.
Halifax Regional Police and RCMP are taking part in a coast-to-coast enforcement blitz called Operation Impact.
HRP Cst. Brian Palmeter tells News 95.7 police will be watching for seatbelt use, impaired driving plus speeders and aggressive drivers.
“You’ll see a variety of enforcement techniques such as traffic points, radar stations and just general routine traffic stops, in order to ensure that everybody out there is abiding by the rules of the road,” said Halifax Regional Police Cst. Brian Palmeter.
Operation Impact begins today and will run throughout the weekend, targeting drivers who engage in high-risk activities and put themselves, other motorists and pedestrians at risk.
