Police seek help finding Shriners’ ATVs

Halifax Regional Police are requesting the public’s help to track down four ATVs stolen from the Philae Shriners.
Cst. Brian Palmeter says the crime happened sometime Monday night.
“Somebody broke into a storage container and stole four ATVs from the Shriners,” he said. “Three of the machines are miniature ATVs and one is a full-sized. These are the machines that the Shriners use in parades to entertain the children.”
The ATVs are decorated with colorful stickers and flags, which should make them easy to identify. The Shriners say it took years of fundraising to purchase the machines.
The next parade is The Festival of Lights in December.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the machines should contact police at 490-5016 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
Police also said the person who currently has the machines can contact police annonymously and provide a location where they can be retrieved.
