Cape Breton cop charged with assault and confinement

An officer with the Cape Breton Regional Police is facing charges of assault and confinement.

Constable Steven Joseph Nagy is facing two assault charges and one of unlawful confinement linked to an incident last August.

Police say it was not related to the professional duties of the 23-year veteran of the force.

Nagy has been suspended from the force.
