Hunters asked to keep eyes open

Now that deer season has opened in Nova Scotia, police in Pictou County are asking hunters to make note of anything suspicious in the woods.

The investigation is ongoing into the disappearance of 19-year-old Amber Kirwan, who was last seen nearly three weeks ago in New Glasgow.

Police are also investigating the fatal shooting of 44-year-old Edward William Phalan outside his home in nearby Trenton on Tuesday night.

Police say hunters who notice anything suspicious or out of place should call CrimeStoppers.
