Environment Canada is predicting a rainy Remembrance Day in Nova Scotia, as well as in parts of southern New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
The weather agency says that tropical storm Sean will meet a cold front and create downpours throughout the day.
It’s expected between 60 and 100 millimetres of rain will fall by the end of the day along the eastern shore of Nova Scotia, with lesser amounts further inland.
The weather agency issued a heavy rainfall warning for much of Nova Scotia, and also said gusts will be strong along the coasts.
Halifax municipal crews were out yesterday clearing drains and leaves from catch basins in hopes of avoiding flooding.
A news release from the Halifax Regional Municipality says several Remembrance Day ceremonies in the area planned to move indoors due to the weather, but the main event at the Grand Parade will go on, rain or shine.
