Several areas in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick are being closed to shellfish harvesting because of excessive rainfall.
Fisheries officials say in Nova Scotia, waters within three kilometres of the shoreline in Digby, and Queens and Lunenburg counties are closed.
In New Brunswick, waters near the shoreline in Saint John County from Quaco Head to the Albert County line are closed along with those near the shoreline in all of Albert County.
They are closed to mussel, clam and oyster harvesting because the water quality was affected by significant rainfall Friday.
