Rome is on fire for Vancouver

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Defenceman Aaron Rome had a career high three points in the Canucks 4-1 win over the NY Islanders.
Rome opened the scoring two minutes into the first period, for his third goal in four games.
He finished the game assisting on a third period goal by Cody Hodgson and an empty net marker by David Booth. Prior to Rome’s three goals in the last week, he had two goals over a five-season span in 131 NHL games.
Henrik Sedin scored the game winning goal for Vancouver, 34 seconds into the second period. Other than the empty net goal, Vancouver scored before the three minute mark of each period.
Matt Moulson’s goal late in the second was the only puck out of 24 shots to beat Roberto Luongo. That is 200 wins in a Canucks uniform for Bobby Lou. Evgeni Nabokov made 32 saves in the New York cage.
Alain Vigneault’s crew did not take a penalty in the game.
Vancouver hosts Chicago on Wednesday night.
