Workers’ Compensation Board told to improve privacy record

Nova Scotia’s privacy watchdog says the Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia must change its ways.
Dulcie McCallum, the province’s privacy review officer, says the board breached the privacy of clients 155 times over a 32-month period.
McCallum issued a report Friday that says the board needs to recognize it is the guardian of sensitive personal information.
The report contains 21 recommendations.
McCallum launched an investigation after a man told the media in January that he requested his own file from the board and received a stranger’s file instead.
The board says it plans to adopt all McCallum’s recommendations.
