Clayton Park stabbing not random: police

Halifax Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a stabbing that left an 18-year-old man with serious injuries.

The victim was pepper-sprayed and then stabbed on a pathway behind the Keshen Goodman library in Clayton Park around 1 p.m. Thursday.

Halifax Regional Police spokesperson Cst. Brian Palmeter says the man was able to make his way to the library where staff called police and EHS.

The man suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and police say the attack was not random.

Another young man was arrested late Thursday afternoon, but Palmeter says he was released without charges.

Anyone who saw the attack or has any information about it is asked to call police at 490-5016 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
