Premier warns 2012 could be rough for economy

Nova Scotia Premier Darrell Dexter says 2012 could be a rough year for the province’s economy.

Despite the promise of lucrative megaprojects on the horizon, Dexter says uncertainty in world markets could offset benefits from a $25-billion federal shipbuilding contract.

He says the building of combat ships in Halifax is still more than a year away – and the proposed $6.2-billion Muskrat Falls hydroelectric project in Labrador is still in the planning stages.
