Bloomfield site up for grabs this spring

As the city reviews the sale of the St. Patrick’s-Alexandra school, another north-end site is about to be put on the market.
HRM will issue a request for proposals for the old Bloomfield site this spring.
Spokesperson Shaune MacKinlay tells Metro Halifax the municipality is ready to gauge new interest from the community and developers.
HRM reviewed the site in 2004 and the community and tenants came up with an alternative to simply selling it that has kept the building in regular use ever since.
The Imagine Bloomfield group says, in a release, that if the city had followed a similar process with the St. Patrick’s – Alexandra sale, the recent controversy might not have happened.
