Double-robbery suspect arrested in New Brunswick

A suspect in two Halifax-area bank robberies has been arrested after a Canada-wide warrant was issued for his capture.

The Scotiabank on Lacewood Drive and the TD Bank on Portland Street were robbed hours apart on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say Timothy Edward Walsh is now facing weapons charges as well as two counts of robbery and theft over $5000.

Halifax Regional Police say Walsh was arrested Wednesday night in New Brunswick by Codiac RCMP.

“Members of the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section will be making
arrangements today to return Walsh to Halifax where he will appearing in court to face robbery and weapons related charges,” said Constable Brian Palmeter.
