Rain could cause commuter chaos

The temperatures are on the rise, and there’s heavy rain in the forecast overnight into Tuesday.
It’s all because of an endless series of low pressure systems.
If you’re hoping that will help clear the ice still on the roads, you should think again.
Meteorologist Richard Zurawski says the ground is frozen, and obviously so is the ice, so he says when that rain falls, it’s going to stay on top of the ice and freeze which could make for a slippery commute.
“Anything that falls, no matter what it is, is going to go down to the freezing mark and if it comes down in the form of rain, it’s going to be a skating rink,” he says.
Richard explains overnight temperatures have been surprisingly high this winter and he adds if the temperatures get up to double digits overnight, that would be a record.
He says areas west of Nova Scotia, from Eastern Ontario all the way through to parts of New Brunswick, will be getting freezing rain.
