Snow removal plans to get another look: mayor

The mayor is offering another mea culpa after another snowfall resulted in poor road conditions, infuriating HRM drivers.
Commuters and bus riders took to Twitter on Friday evening to report being stuck on city roads and highways for hours on Friday evening in a relatively minor snowfall.
Peter Kelly tells Metro Halifax it’s obvious the municipality “didn’t get it right” with its snow clearing efforts.
He says he was told all the city’s plows were out on major roads by 1 p.m. Friday and says he’ll be looking for more information about what went wrong.
Coun. Tim Outhit (Bedford) says he’s also looking for answers from provincial officials about the snowy mess on the Bi-Hi and on Magazine Hill. Police had to close the 102 for salting on Friday evening and an accident on Magazine Hill caused complete gridlock throughout Burnside and into Bedford.
The streets were still snow-packed and icy on Saturday, and Halifax police responded to 33 accidents by the evening.
