Warm and dry spring ahead for the Maritimes

Environment Canada has released its spring forecast for the next three months. It’s a forecast that will be welcomed by many in the region.
“Much milder than normal temperatures right across Canada for the next three months,” says News 95.7 Meteorologist Richard Zurawski. “And (the forecast) is also showing that in Atlantic Canada, normal precipitation amounts.”
Zurawski is also predicting that our warm and dry spring will start early this year. He’s partly basing that on what Shubenacadie Sam will see Thursday morning on Groundhog Day.
“When Sam comes out, he’s going to be looking at a mainly cloudy day and he’s not going to see his shadow,” Zurawski says. “He has already given me the outlook early because he and I are in simpatico.”
If Sam doesn’t see his shadow, as Zurawski predicts, spring in the Maritimes will begin in two weeks.
