Murder suspect remanded after arraignment

The teenager accused of stabbing a man to death in Fairview has been arraigned and will remain behind bars until next month.

Aidan Cromwell, 18, made a brief appearance in court Monday on a charge of second-degree murder.

He was arrested early on the morning of Feb. 3, hours after police officers found Marc Tremblay, 25, lying dead on the ground in Fairview.

Cromwell’s girlfriend, Jasmine Mayo, was in court for Monday’s appearance. She has told the Herald Cromwell got in a fight with a pair of men who confronted them on Thursday night, and claimed Cromwell was acting in self-defence.

He’s been remanded until a bail hearing on March 6.
