The Millbrook First Nation is planning to set up three wind turbines.
The community in central Nova Scotia will be the first band in Nova Scotia to have a wind project approved under the province’s community feed-in tariff program.
Band administrator Alex Cope estimates the project is capable of creating enough power to feed electricity to 1,500 homes.
