Marathon session transit talks continue

Two days of marathon session negotiating seem to be netting some results in the ongoing talks between the union representing striking Metro Transit drivers and HRM.
When talks ended Saturday night at around 10pm, union leader Ken Wilson told The Chronicle Herald the two sides were “getting close” to resolving keys issues at the heart of the strike.
He tells the paper that includes movement on the scheduling issues.
The city spent much of Saturday going over the latest offer from the union.
There weren’t a lot of face-to-face talks yesterday but Wilson says that isn’t necessarily a bad thing because that way there’s no miscommunications or misreading of body language.
A third straight day of negotiations will get underway at noon today as the two sides continue to try and hammer out a deal that will get buses and ferries moving again.
