Dalhousie support staff voting on tentative deal today

Dalhousie University and the union representing its support staff have reached a tentative deal.
The two sides shook on the agreement just before midnight and the union membership will be voting on the deal starting this morning.
President of the Nova Scotia Government Employees Union Joan Jessome tells News 95.7 she’s pleased and hopeful.
“The bargaining committee is recommending unanimously that the bargaining unit accept,” she said. “It was the strike vote that delivered this deal, and we hope the membership is pleased with it.”
Voting will be held on campus, starting at 11:30 a.m. today.
The university and union met on Tuesday for a last day of conciliated talks.
The union has filed its walkout notice and if the deal is rejected today, support staff will be on strike Thursday morning.
