N.S. minimum wage rises 1.5 per cent

Minimum wage has gone up in Nova Scotia.

As of April 1, minimum wage workers are making $10.15 an hour, an increase of 15 cents.

The minimum wage for inexperienced workers has also gone up, from $9.50 an hour to $9.65.

A release from the province says minimum wage increases will now be tied to the Consumer Price Index, and will happen annually every April.

The government says fixing the minimum wage to the consumer price index was recommended by a minimum wage review committee made up of representatives from employers and employees.

The rate was last set in October.
