Charges laid in Fairview barber shop shooting

Charges have been laid in Saturday afternoon’s shooting at a barber shop in Fairview.

A 23-year-old man was shot — police think he was the target — and a 41 year old man described as a bystander was also wounded.

Police say 18-year-old Decoda Devon White of Halifax, arrested in Dartmouth on Monday, is being charged with two counts of attempted murder.

He’s also accused of two counts of discharging a firearm with intent, two counts of pointing a firearm, and one count each of careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon with ammunition, unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle and possession contrary to order.
