Human remains found near Fox Lake

Police are trying to identify human remains found on a hiking trail in HRM.

Around 11 a.m. Sunday, a hiker on a trail near Fox Lake, near Kearney Lake, called 911 to report what’s described as a “complete set” of human remains.

Halifax Regional Police Staff Sgt. Lindsay Hernden tells Metro News the remains are too badly decomposed for identification and have likely been there for some time.

The remains have been turned over to the medical examiner.
