Runner remembered as positive family man

The man who died on the final leg of the Cabot Trail Relay Race is being remembered as someone who lived life to the fullest.
Steve Dunn, 58, of Halifax collapsed 500 metres from the finish line on Sunday.
In a release, his family calls him a “wonderful and dedicated” husband, son, brother, father and friend, whose love for life was contagious to anyone who knew him.
Fellow runner Rufus Sweet ran the relay 17 times with Dunn. He tells Metro Halifax, Dunn was the kind of guy who loved to be around people, and was enjoyable to be around.
Dunn was a member of the Salt Marsh Trail Running Club, based in Cole Harbour.
An organizer of the Cabot Trail relay says it’s the first time anything so serious has ever happened in the event’s 25-year history.
