Man tries to rob Needs store with syringes

A clerk at the Needs store on Herring Cove Road hit the alarm Sunday night when a man walked in and demanded money.
He didn’t have a gun or a knife. He had syringes and said they were dirty and carried a blood-borne disease.
The clerk did not give up the cash, and the would-be robber left on foot.
