Forecasters predicting a mild fall and winter

The summer warmth is expected to extend into the fall, as warmer than normal temperatures persist into the New Year.
Environment Canada is out with it’s latest one-month and six-month, long-range forecasts.
“If you don’t like winter, or cold falls, it looks like a pretty good forecast,” News 95.7 meteorologist Richard Zurawski said Tuesday. “It looks like things are going to be warmer than normal and precipitation amounts are going to be in the normal range.”
The warm temperatures are expected to persist throughout the Maritimes.
Unfortunately, normal precipitation and mild temperatures could result in more treacherous road conditions for drivers.
“It’s a combination of snow, rain, freezing rain,” said Zurawski. “When things get warmer in Atlantic Canada that pushes the threshold up into melting and wet precipitation in the winter time, as opposed to snow. The winter is always a time for nasty driving.”
This is the second year in a row the Maritimes will experience a warmer than normal winter, while the rest of Canada is expected to see more typical winter conditions.
