Two buses were destroyed and an Access-a-Bus was heavily damaged by the fire at the Burnside facility around 10 p.m. Sunday.
Halifax Regional Fire Department said it responded after several 911 calls.
“Upon arrival, the first unit experienced heavy fire involvement to two buses with some extension to the third,” Platoon Chief Gary McCurdy told News 95.7. “They moved three other buses to prevent the possibility of extension to the other buses. Then they knocked down the fire.”
McCurdy said he understood Metro Transit employees were working at the site at the time, however there were no injuries.
He said the damaged Access-a-Bus was not in regular use and may have been scrap.
