More construction delays at Metro Transit’s Bridge Terminal

Construction delays are again hampering the opening of Metro Transit’s Bridge Terminal.

Staff have delayed the opening of the $17.4-million Dartmouth facility after work on a pedestrian bridge on the building’s second level fell behind.

“A second delay is regrettable and we apologize for any inconvenience to Metro Transit customers who have been patiently waiting for this improved facility,” said Metro Transit Director Eddie Robar.

The new opening date is set for October 1st, enough time to ensure everything at the terminal is spot on prior to opening.

Metro transit’s new GPS Bus Locator system has also been delayed until the new terminal opens. GoTime will continue to report scheduled time only until the new Bridge Terminal opens.
