An unique event planned for Thursday night is designed to bring issues facing the community to the forefront without getting politics, or politcians, involved.
“We kind of think that elections tend to be too much about personalities and candidates and sometimes issues get pushed to the side,” says Ben Sichel, one of the event’s organizers.
To spur discussions along, Sichel has invited former Toronto Mayoral Candidate Carolann Wright Parks and social activist Jackie Barkley to the event to speak, and will show the film Encounter Week.
The event gets underway at 7 pm at the Just Us Cafe on Spring Garden Road.
