Several shots were fired in Uniacke Square Wednesday night sending one man to hospital.
Police were called to the area near Uniacke and Brunswick Street just before 11 p.m. after neighbours reported multiple shots fired.
Sgt. Rob Lowther said police located the crime scene quickly, but are still determining what happened.
“Shortly after we got on scene a call came in from the QEII emerg [emergency room] that a party had just been brought in with a gunshot wound,” said Lowther.
Police spoke to the victim, who is in his 20s, prior to his surgery and are waiting to re-interview him today.
Police said they would be executing a search warrant on a home in the area as part of an ongoing investigation.
