Brothers accused in Peacock murder to wait more than a year for next appearance

It will be more than a year before two Nova Scotia brothers return to court on first-degree murder charges in the death of a woman.

Twenty-four-year-old Dustan Preeper and his 20-year-old brother, Joshua Preeper, were charged in July in the death of Melissa Dawn Peacock.

The 20-year-old woman went missing after leaving her Halifax home last Nov. 7.

Five days were set aside for a preliminary inquiry beginning Dec. 2, 2013, today in Truro provincial court.

Dustan Preeper also faces a second-degree murder charge in the July 2010 death of Ben Hare of Truro.

A preliminary hearing in that case has been scheduled for Dec. 16, 2013.
