Police have a 19-year-old suspect in custody in connection with an attempted abduction from a wealthy neighborhood in HRM.
Police got a break when a guard patrolling the same Oakland Road property Monday happened upon a break-in in progress.
It didn’t take investigators long to link the two crimes together.
“(The suspect) was interviewed by our investigator with the Major Crime Unit and it was determined that he’s the same man responsible for the attempted abduction and break and enter that occurred at that residence on October 16th,” said Halifax Regional Police Constable Pierre Bourdages.
Last Tuesday, police were called to a purportedly owned by Gammon Gold Inc. co-founder Bradley Langille, after a man fled the scene after trying to kidnap an person inside.
The unnamed suspect is now facing two counts of each of break and enter, disguise with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and using an imitation of a firearm in the commission of an offence.
