A teen will be in court today after a construction worker was threatened with a knife at Halifax Shopping Centre.
Police were called to the Mumford Road mall around 3 p.m. Tuesday.
The 30-year-old victim reported a group of youths were causing a disturbance near one of the entrances.
“One of the youths turned his attention to the victim and approached him with a knife threatening to stab him,” said police in a media release Wednesday.
Mall security intervened and detained three youths until police arrived. The victim wasn’t injured during the incident.
A 15-year-old was identified as the suspect with the knife and was arrested without incident. He has been charged with assault with a weapon, breach of probation and breach of an undertaking. He was set to appear in Halifax Provincial Court Wednesday.
