A body has been found near the Salmon River in the Truro, N.S., area.

Truro Police say they received a call about the remains late Tuesday.

Insp. Rob Hearn says investigators have yet to identify the body and the cause of death remains unclear.

Hearn declined to say whether the remains were that of a male or a female.

The inspector also wouldn’t say if there was a link between the body and reports that a 38-year-old woman from the Truro area has been missing since Saturday.

Anne Marie Harvey was last seen walking in Truro on the weekend and her friends and family say it’s out of character for her to remain away from home.
