Hospital building closed due to flooding

A building on the Queen Elizabeth II hospital’s Victoria General site will be closed today after flooding.

Capital Health says a flood in the Bethune Building’s East Wing, closest to South Park Street, has affected many rooms from the fifth floor down to the basement.

No inpatient care areas or clinics are involved.

The health authority says a commercial cleaner started cleaning up the water yesterday. An inspection will be happening today to assess the damage.
