High risk sexual offender released into Halifax

A high risk sexual offender is getting out a federal penitentiary today and police say he plans to live in Halifax.

Forty-seven-year-old John Patrick Neve has a criminal history involving violent sexual offences against intimate partners and children and has been professionally assessed as a high risk to re-offend in a sexual manner.

As part of his release, Neve has been placed on a number of strict conditions regarding his interaction with women and children under the age of 16.

Neve is described as white male, 5’11”, 186 lbs, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Police add if you see Neve and think he has breached the conditions, call them. Any form of vigilante activity or other unreasonable conduct will not be tolerated.
