There should be smiles on the faces of drivers in Nova Scotia, as the price of gas fell for the first time this year.

Regulated prices dropped at midnight by 1.6 cents a litre for regular self-serve to $127.9 in Metro Halifax.

Diesel prices are also down this morning by the same amount, 1.6 cents, with fuel now selling at $132.7.

One year ago, we were paying $129.3 for gas, $136.9 for diesel. Oil was trading at $99.10 U.S. a barrel, $5.28 higher than yesterday’s closing price of $93.82.
