No charges will be laid after Reflections patron claims bouncers assaulted him

Police say charges won’t be laid after a patron at Reflections cabaret claimed he was assaulted by bouncers as they removed him from the property.

The incident happened at around 2:40 a.m. Saturday morning, when a man flagged down police and said he had been assaulted by bouncers.

Constable Pierre Bourdages tells News 95.7 police got a clear picture of what happened after review the security tapes.

“The complainant was removed by staff in the proper manner and he attempted to forcibly re-enter the bar after being denied entry,” he explains. “At that time, he became entangled in a barrier rope outside the bar and fell down and hit his head one of the posts holding the rope.”

He says camera don’t lie.

“In this case, and most cases involving bars, there are video surveillance cameras available and it becomes a silent witness to what transpired,” says Bourdages. “There’s always diversion in these cases with witnesses and complainants and in this case the video shows there was no assault and no need for charges.”

The man suffered minor injuries in his fall.
