Thousands cleaning up N.S. today

More than 14,000 Nova Scotians are cleaning up the province today for Clean Across Nova Scotia.

“Over 230 groups will be picking up litter,” said organizer Leann Grosvold. “Go out when you can, for as long as you want, and clean up an area you care about.”

Last year, around 8,000 people participated in the clean up.

“The very first Clean Across Nova Scotia was last June,” said Grosvold. “We noticed it was a lot harder to clean up, there was a lot of grass and thick shrubs. By having it in April, we’re not only able to put it in line with Earth Day, but we’ll also get a really good cleaning.”

You can find clean up maps and teams on their website.
