Largest hummingbird sculpture in N.A. unveiled in Musquodoboit

The largest hummingbird sculpture in North America is being unveiled in Middle Musquodoboit today.

The colourful, 16-feet sculpture is the creation of 92-year-old Bobby Annand.

“She’s always had this dream of having this sculpture,” said district one councillor Barry Dalrymple. “She has designed it, looked after it, and will see it be unveiled. There is a connection to hummingbirds to Middle Musquodoboit.”

The bird sits on top of metal vines while taking a drink from a three-feet wide flower.

“I’m a little bit… maybe you’d call ‘excited,” said Bobby. “I’m just looking forward to seeing it!”

The sculpture will be unveiled today at 2:00 pm. at Corner Stone Park.
