Gas prices see shift downward, diesel remains flat in N.S.

Nova Scotians are getting another break at the gas pumps across the province.

One week after the provincial regulator dropped gas prices by 7.2 cents, the Nova Scotia Energy Board used its weekly adjustment to lower the price-per-litre of regular self-serve gas by 5.3 cents to 173.1 on Friday.

There were no changes however to the price of diesel so that fuel remains at 206.0 cents per litre.

According to regulations, the Nova Scotia Energy Board must prescribe a benchmark price for fuel products every Friday.

One year ago, we were paying 1.38 for gas and 1.36 for diesel.
