Heat wave sets new temperature record

Enjoy this heat wave while you can, because it’s about to come to a quick end.
In the meantime, Halifax is expected to set another temperature record today.
It was so hot in Metro Halifax yesterday, meteorologist Richard Zurawski says another weather record was broken.
“We did set a record for Halifax. It was only a year old, it was set in 2012. We broke the old record of 30 degrees and we hit a high yesterday of 31,” said Zurawksi.
With highs of 32 to 35 expected today around the region, there’s a good possiblity we’ll also break today’s record high of 31.5 degrees, set in 1990.
But Zurawski says temperatures will start to come down tomorrow as a cold front arrives that could bring a few scattered showers.
